This is an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric service hosted by Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and be part of the dynamic team providing the service to meet rising demand across the specialist teams within Epilepsy, Community Paediatrics including Neurodevelopmental Paediatrics. The successful candidate will be clinically active in both Community Paediatric service and Acute Paediatric services. The post holder will be the fourth clinician joining the Paediatric epilepsy service. Currently we have three consultant Paediatricians offering four epilepsy specific clinics per week. There are three Epilepsy specialist nurses in the team. The Paediatric Neurology team at Leeds provide the tertiary neurology support. The post holder will also be clinically active in the Community Paediatric service and contribute to 50% of Acute Paediatric on call commitments and Consultant of the Week responsibility.Main duties of the jobThe timetable is flexible and can be modified to reflect the special interests and expertise of the appointee.Each Job Plan will be allocated a standard SPA time of 1.5 PAs. Any additional SPA time for additional responsibilities will be subject to agreement with the Clinical Director.This post is for 10 programmed activities. An indicative Job Plan is enclosed but this may change in due course according to organisation vision, responsibilities and population needs. - Postgraduate degree: e.g. MD, PhD in Paediatrics
- Successful completion of RCPCH Epilepsy SPIN training or equivalent experience
- Completion of BPNA PET course (1 and 2)

- oAbility to fulfil all of the duties of the post, and travel requirements Satisfactory Enhanced DBS and required immigration status
Professional RegistrationEssential
- oFull Registration with the GMC
- oGMC Specialist Registration (or applicants who are within 6 months of being awarded their CCT – Note – CESR applicants must be on the Specialist Register at the point of application
Clinical ExperienceEssential
- Is able to demonstrate having achieved the competencies equivalent to the highest specialist paediatric training in paediatrics
- Demonstrate experience in assessment and management of children with Epilepsy and neurodevelopmental disorders
- Able to undertake statutory looked after children/adoption health assessments, including those with complex healthcare needs and provide written report
- Valid APLS and NLS
- Valid level 3 safeguarding training

- Experience of working in tertiary neurology centre in the UK
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of epilepsy and patients
Management and Administration ExperienceEssential
