CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the consultancy of Business Process Specialist, to document existing Business Services flowcharts, processes, and policies and develop and implement streamlined processes and policies based on lean methodology principles for the program of business services.

 

Please note that this consultancy is for a period of six months.

 

The position will be based at CIMMYT headquarters in Texcoco, State of Mexico, near Mexico City.

 

Specific duties:

  • Conduct a detailed analysis of current procurement processes.
  • Create comprehensive documentation of existing processes, including flowcharts.
  • Identify gaps and inefficiencies in the current processes.
  • Analyze documented processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop proposals to streamline procurement processes, ensuring alignment with lean methodology principles.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to validate proposed improvements.
  • Design new procurement processes and flowcharts based on approved proposals.
  • Develop new policies that support streamlined processes and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Ensure all new processes and policies are documented clearly and comprehensively.
  • Support the implementation of approved process improvements.
  • Provide training and guidance to procurement staff on new processes and policies.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of implemented changes and adjust as needed.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including procurement staff, legal, finance, and other departments, to gather input and feedback.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to discuss process improvements and gather consensus.
  • Prepare regular reports on the progress of process documentation and improvement initiatives.
  • Present findings and recommendations to the Business Services director and senior management if needed.

 

Required qualifications, skills, and attitudes:

 

  • The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, supply chain management or a related field.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in experience in business process analysis and improvement, preferably in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in process mapping tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart).
  • Knowledge of Lean process management will be considered a plus for this consultancy.
  • Advanced level of English language (English test will be administered; candidate must score a minimum of C1 as per CEFR).
  • The selected candidate must exhibit the following competencies: Critical Thinking, Teamwork, Client Orientation, Problem Solving, Decision Making, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution
