Maintenance Services Co-ordinator

University of Chester

The Estates and Facilities Department is responsible for the management of the University’s property portfolio across all of the University estate and related facilities. The Department is seeking to appoint a full time Maintenance Services co-ordinator, based at the Chester Campus, reporting directly to the Premises Manager.  The role holder will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of the Maintenance services across the University of Chester campuses (Chester, Warrington, Thornton, Shrewsbury, and Birkenhead). These campuses are comprised of academic/teaching spaces and residential areas such as student houses/halls of residence. 

The role holder will assist in the management and delivery of reactive and planned Maintenance and provide support to the Premises Manager and Head of Buildings and Maintenance with Maintenance, repair, minor new M&E works and record keeping of statutory compliance and insurance reporting carried out on the University Estate

You will ensure the highest levels of service are provided across the sites by the inhouse Maintenance team and external contractors, ensuring the comfort and safety of staff, students and external groups as well as demonstrating value for money with respect to services and goods. 

You must be educated to appropriate industry related qualifications to a minimum of Level 5 and have clear proven experience in an engineering or building discipline or similar.  You will also have all round knowledge of building trades and maintenance services as well as a clear understanding of related legislation including Electrical and Health & Safety legislation.  Excellent IT, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to multi task to ensure excellent levels of service are essential.
