Pineland Farms is one of the largest food manufacturing organizations located in Aroostook County. Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for performing a variety of advanced mechanical maintenance service to support the plant facility. Takes a proactive approach to prevent repairs, and will install, replace and troubleshoot complex mechanical equipment and distribution systems with minimum supervision. Uses hand tools and testing instruments. Dismantles machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Performs preventative and predictive maintenance on complex mechanical equipment and distribution systems. 2. Fabricates and assembles equipment which may entail welding, cutting and pipe fitting. 3. Performs emergency repairs on process equipment. 4. Inspects facility equipment on a daily basis performing various production startup and coverage tasks. 5. Trouble-shoots any repairs PLC, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic components. 6. Uses prints, specifications, follows verbal instructions to make repairs to ordinary plumbing and electrical systems. Installs and threads pipe, performs soldering and cutting. 7. Assists in the installation of equipment. 8. Cleans and lubricates parts, equipment, and machinery. 9. Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner. 10. Participate in and adhere to all HazMat, Confined Space and LOTO trainings 11. All food safety and human safety concerns need to be reported to appropriate personnel such as QA technician, Safety Manager, FSQ Manager, etc. 12. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education/Experience: • High School diploma or G.E.D required: A minimum of three or more year’s industrial equipment experience required. Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position is required to be part of the Emergency Response Team. A respirator fit test is necessary. Will be walking and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling 1/3 to 2/3 of the time, and standing, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms and talking or hearing over 2/3 of the time. Must be able to lift weights ranging from 10 to more than 100 pounds under 1/3 of the time. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position will be exposed to work in high, precarious place, and outdoor weather conditions under 1/3 of the time. Will work near moving mechanical parts over 2/3 of the time. Typical noise level is loud (examples: metal can manufacture department, large earth-moving equipment).
