The RBM Partnership to End Malaria is seeking a consultant to conduct research on the impact of climate change on malaria, paying attention also to the gender, development and human rights aspects. The consultant will produce knowledge pieces that will help the RBM Secretariat and the global malaria community to push for the recognition of climate change impact on malaria and for the need to act quickly to end malaria for good while countering climate change. The consultant will work under the guidance of the Advocacy and Communications Manager and in collaboration with the Advocacy and Resource Mobilization Partner Committee (ARMPC) and Strategic Communications and Advocacy Partner Committee.
Research: The consultant is expected to conduct desk research, and produce a paper and/or other knowledge pieces on the impact of climate change on malaria and an advocacy brief with key facts and messages. These products will support malaria advocates within and outside the Partnership to advocate for a world free of malaria and for the importance to act rapidly before our fight against malaria is further impacted by climate change.
Strategy development: Conduct desk research on the intersection between climate change and malaria. Considering the importance of the topic, the consultant will work and coordinate with members of the Partnership to develop a common position on the issue and to align messages.

Key Deliverables /Measurable Outputs
Brief Paper: A concise report on the impact of climate change and malaria, taking into account human rights, gender and development dimensions.
Advocacy brief: Advocacy brief with key messages to be utilized in speeches, briefs, and analyses, especially around COP and related meetings. Highlighting the human cost, investment urgency, and adaptation to malaria elimination strategies
Media tool kit: In collaboration with the Communication Team, develop a media toolkit to be used by the Secretariat and Partners on social media, especially around COP and related meetings.
Message development: Develop and disseminate knowledge pieces and key messages to influence public thought, key stakeholders and targeted decision makers on the impact of climate change on malaria.

Work Experience & Language Requirements
Required:
Seven years of experience in the global health context, research and Knowledge management , strategy development, and stakeholder engagement and advocacy.
Within the required 7 years, four years experience in developing messages for diverse audiences at country, regional, and global level to achieve greater impact.
Experience in advocacy and communication around the intersection between climate change and health
Desirables:
Experience working in a developing country or malaria-endemic country.
Proven ability to work remotely and collaborate with staff located in other geographical locations.
Knowledge and experience in the intersection between health and the private sector.
