The AML team enables a high-growth portfolio with sound risk management principles related to suspicious activity. We are looking for a high-performing leader to make an immediate impact through strategic implementation of best practices, and strong coaching and mentorship practices.What you’ll be doing:
- You lead and mentor a team of AML Investigators responsible for identifying and reporting suspicious activity related to money laundering.
- You manage the completion and review of high quality investigations, ensuring objective collection of facts, context and ML/TF indicators for identifying and articulating RGS, as well as appropriate rationale in closed-not-suspicious cases
- You proactively monitor and communicate trends in money laundering patterns and typology optimization to enhance the investigation process and reduce false positives
- You contribute to Neo’s culture of compliance by fostering an understanding of money laundering indicators within internal teams across the company
- You drive process improvement through innovation ensuring risks of non-compliance are identified and mitigated with a sense of urgency
Who we are looking for:
- 5+ years experience in AML Investigations, with 2+ years in a leadership position
- You have extensive subject matter expertise with drafting and reviewing STR’s
- You have demonstrated experience working with banking and/or fintech system(s)
- Advanced knowledge of Canadian AML legislation, including Financial Transactions Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC), Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), and Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA)
- Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Financial Crimes Specialist (ACFCS) certifications or equivalent designations will be considered an asset.
- University Degree in Law, Business, Economics, Management or other relevant fields is an asset
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication to different audiences including senior management
- You think strategically, and understand how risk strategies impact the big picture
- You take a collaborative approach and engage purposely with key stakeholders
- You have experience in a fast-paced environment where competing priorities, uncertain outcomes, and iteration are part of the norm
