The Manager, Fees will liaise with the Office of Institutional Planning and Budgeting (IPB) and Finance, and will manage and implement special projects, such as direct deposit initiatives or net tuition analysis for Ministry accountabilities. In addition, the Manager, Fees will oversee the business processes of Student Financial Services, identifying weaknesses or potential business process improvements to better serve the Western community.QualificationsEducation:
- Undergraduate Degree, preferably in Business, Commerce or Finance
Experience:
- 5 years progressive experience working in PeopleSoft HE
- 3 years experience working with academic structure and offering in a post-secondary environment
- Previous experience leading teams and projects
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Advanced computer skills in PeopleSoft HE, as well as PS Query, MS Excel and Access applications
- Demonstrated ability to research and investigate issues, and use analysis, innovation and imagination to solve problems and execute solutions
- Must be resourceful with a strong sense of initiative and accountability
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to clearly identify cost/benefit analyses
- Must work well under pressure and use good judgement in assessing difficult situations to align with strategic objectives
- Ability to establish and build healthy working relationships, collaborating with peers and internal and external stakeholders
- Sound judgment with a consultative and collaborative approach to address issues and opportunities for improvement
- Demonstrated effective leadership strategies to align individual and team motivation towards a goal
- Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to complete detailed analytics and reports, demonstrating confidence in dealing with all levels of the organization
- Willingness and ability to stay abreast of technological developments and to highlight opportunities for improvement within the organization
- Ability to work in a fluid and challenging work environment with changing deadlines and competing priorities in order to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to adapt to growth and change within the organization or from external partners
- Exceptional organizational skills and competencies in effectively managing projects
