The Opportunity
This position works out of our Mississauga, Ontario location in the Diabetes Care Division. We’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing technology that provides accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’ve revolutionized the way people monitor their glucose levels with our leading sensing technology.
What You’ll Do

This is a national role with overall responsibility for developing and executing internal, multi-stakeholder communications strategies to support brands, strategic priorities for Abbott’s Diabetes Care division.

Ensure that employees are aware of changes and projects within the company. Prepares and executes annual employee communications plan aligned to strategic priorities. Includes developing key messages, leader communications, presentations, and leading key activities (e.g. employee town halls, and events).

Develop multi-stakeholder brand strategy with cross functional objectives.

Play an active role within the ADC Marketing team and identify opportunities to work collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues to deliver on brand objectives, including communication elements of marketing team, providing input/insight on trends and opportunities during preparation of the divisional Marketing strategy and plan.

Lead strategic projects with the marketing team and develop key messages and initiatives aimed at raising awareness and relevance of Diabetes Care products.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications.
-
Five to eight years communications/product management experience within pharmaceutical, medical technology.

Strong analytical skills with the proven ability to develop and achieve financial goals and objectives.

Working knowledge of the Diabetes and Healthcare markets and the ability to effectively interface with internal customers.

Strong administrative and communication skills and a proven ability to meet project deadlines.

Communication experience including working with marketing/advertising, PR, creative agencies.
