Salary: The MINIMUM salary for this position is $94,032 per annum. Starting salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s education, experience, and internal equity
Reports To: DirectorAs the Manager, Operational Risk you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and execution of the Company’s Operational Risk Management and Third-Party Risk Management Frameworks. You will work collaboratively with the team to identify and manage operational risks throughout the organization and will advise and assist the senior management team in the development of appropriate mitigation strategies for identified risks.Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance in the development, implementation, and execution of the Company’s Operational Risk Management Framework including:
  • Maintaining operational risk register and list of action plans developed for the mitigation of risks identified and performing regular follow up.
  • Overseeing the performance of regular operational risk exercises, including related risk assurance.
  • Promotion of the Company’s Operational Risk requirements:
  • Develop and deliver ORM training to the Company and its service providers.
  • Preparation of regular reporting to the SMT, Board and its Committees.
  • Development, operationalization, and maintenance of the Company’s Third-Party Risk Management Framework including:
  • Maintaining related policies, processes, and standards.
  • Maintaining inventory of third-party arrangements.
  • Performing initial assessments and ongoing due diligence, as required.
  • Preparation of reporting to Senior Management and the Board and its Committees.

Requirements

  • University degree in business, finance, accounting, mathematics, or actuarial science.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Risk Management role.
  • Solid understanding of Operational Risk Framework principles and practices.
  • Prior leadership experience.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Assets

  • Completion of a professional accounting designation.
  • Experience in the development and/ or implementation of Operational Risk Framework.
  • Experience in insurance and/or banking.
  • Completion of an internal audit or other risk accreditation.
  • Knowledge of Resolver or other GRC.
  • Bilingual – English & French.
