Periodically, you’ll be required to attend in-person activities or events.As a Manager, Service Transition, you will ensure consistent, efficient delivery of high-quality releases that are delivered following SDLC policies, processes, and best practices. You’ll oversee the Test environment Management process including the coordination and utilization of Test environments.Role Responsibilities:Continuous Improvement and Automation
- Drive continuous improvement of automated release capabilities, using CI/CD pipelines to support Vancity’s continuous delivery capabilities.
- Manage and Support Azure DevOps and strive for continuous improvements.
Team Leadership and Coordination
- Lead a team of Services Transition Analysts, Test Environment Support Engineers, and provide hands-on guidance as required.
- Coordinate with Platform owners, service design, and operations teams to ensure effective deployments.
- Liaise and coordinate with IT stakeholders to remove roadblocks in the SDLC process to ensure release schedules are maintained across multiple applications and portfolios, across different teams and projects.
Release Management
- Ensure Release Management processes and policies are adhered to so that IT releases are reliable, and products are recoverable and auditable.
- Coordinate and maintain the release schedule to optimize release delivery time and minimize impact to the business.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess the success of release management and identify areas for improvement.
Test Environment Management
- Develop and maintain test environment strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with project timelines and business goals.
- Collaborate with development, testing, and infrastructure teams to define environment requirements and specifications.
- Coordinate the setup and configuration of test environments to meet project and testing needs.
- Ensure environments are set up with the correct versions of software and configurations required for testing.
- Monitor the availability of test environments, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for test environment-related issues and incidents.
- Collaborate with Platform Owners, Scrum Masters, developers, testers, and operations teams to ensure effective environment usage.
- Communicate environment status, changes, and issues to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve environment issues, coordinating with relevant teams to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Document and track issues, providing regular updates to stakeholders on status and resolution efforts
You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in transition management, release management, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of transition management software
- Knowledge and understanding of SDLC and ITIL methodologies.
- Experience in the financial industry is desirable.
