Manager

Creekside Education Trust

Could you be our next Creekside Education Trust Manager?

We are looking for a creative and dedicated Manager to lead our charity and ensure the best
possible outcomes for our local communities and Deptford Creek. Creekside Education Trust is a unique charity which owns and runs the Creekside Discovery Centre on the banks of Deptford Creek. We are small but we have a big impact. We are a successful wildlife conservation and environmental education charity with a vision for building a vibrant community in the heart of London where people and wildlife can thrive.

The role balances strategic oversight with a very hands-on involvement with the project and
people involved. You will be responsible for managing the Creekside Discovery Centre,
coordinating the delivery of the work of our charity Creekside Education Trust and ensuring our
financial sustainability through fundraising and income generation.

We are a small team, and the Manager role has diverse responsibilities which means your days
will vary greatly. During a typical week you might attend meetings with local statutory
organisations, negotiate commercial arrangements for nature conservation consultancy, work with
the Finance officer to manage the organisation’s budget and reporting to Trustees.

We are looking for an
inspiring leader who is

  • An experienced and professional manager
  • Skilled in high quality operational delivery
  • Able to input strategically
  • Practiced in delivering against ambitious and motivating targets
  • Confident in maintaining day-to-day performance

This is a full time, permanent role (35 hours per week) although flexible working arrangements such as
job-sharing, compressed hours and reduced hours will be considered. There are some evening and
weekend commitments for which TOIL is given.

Salary range: £37,500 – -£42,500 per annum based on 35 hours per week. Other benefits include a
generous 25 days annual leave in addition to bank holidays, and 3% employer pension
contribution.
