Position SummaryMagellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer – Treatments
- Full Time Permanent Contract
- 39 hours per week.
- Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.
- Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.
The Manufacturing Treatments Engineer will be the link between the Metal Treatment operations and the Engineering Department. You will be the point of contact for all treatment related Engineering projects, New Product Introduction and process improvement. Participate in Change Control Boards and Technical Review Boards to identify change requirements and associated impacts. Support in the generation of manufacturing routings, BOM’s and the generation of the supporting technical information.Perks and Benefits

Essential Responsibilities
- Is the point of contact for treatments technical input into the ERP system
- Responsible for establishing feasible solutions to design and engineering problems where precedence does not exist
- Translate design intent into technical manufacturing data
- Responsible for the generation and maintenance of shop floor documentation
- Help and Advise Engineering Colleagues with engineering queries and changes through the works query note process
- Assist Engineering colleagues with the development of new parts and product introduction
- Tooling and Jig Design for treatments lines
- Owner of standard operations for all chemical processing and surface treatments
Position RequirementsAcademic:
- HNC or HND
Experience:
- Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (Aerospace desirable).
- Sound knowledge of metal treatments and processing.
- Use of ERP systems. (SAP desirable)
- Experience of creation and maintenance of routings and BoMs.
- Experience of configuration and change management.
Key Competencies:
- Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of company systems
- Sound knowledge of multi-discipline engineering practices, processes and procedures
- Sound knowledge of Multi-discipline Engineering fundamental
Other skills/AbilitiesSkills:
- CAD Experience. (Desirable)
- Good understanding of spoken and written English.
Abilities:
- Ability to work using own initiative
- Ability to work as a team and individual.
- Ability to react and support to operational requirements.
