The Opportunity:The Key Account Market Manager is responsible for actively managing key accounts, creating collaboration between internal divisions, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and developing a strong commodity expertise. Through these efforts, they aim to retain and grow key clients as well as adding new accounts through consultative sales.Key Accountabilities:
Key Client Account Management

  • Work closely with the Sales, Customer Service, Operations and Pricing departments to manage and grow client account base and share of wallet for assigned accounts
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction maintaining close contact with assigned customers
  • Provide a solution-based sales approach to drive new business
  • Exceed all standards for presentations, proposals and closes
  • Conduct regular business reviews to align on achieving client and company desired outcomes
  • Maintain key client SalesForce records
  • Report on and ensure compliancy of client KPIs
  • Occasional travel to conduct meetings with key clients
  • Follow all company policies, ethics and company procedures

Key Client Market Management & Sales

  • Develop a deep understanding of the specific industry or market related to your account base, including market trends, regulations, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Analyze data, customer inputs and market trends to make informed decisions and predictions about market movements and areas of opportunity.
  • Build and maintain a network of industry contacts, suppliers, and clients within your market.
  • Discover potential opportunities, and establish a strong presence in the industry at tradeshows, conferences and educational events.
  • Create and maintain customer profiles and action plans in collaboration with National Key Account Managers.
  • Drive new business growth through referrals, suppliers and other clients within your vertical.
  • Perform other duties as required

What You Need To Be Successful In This Role:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma
  • 1-3 years’ prior work experience in a customer-facing role
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
  • Experience working with SalesForce Lightning is an asset
  • Experience or knowledge of supply chain management, logistics and/or the transportation industry is an asset
  • Bilingual in both English and French is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and independently with individuals at various levels is required Strong computer skills
  • Detail and deadline oriented, with the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a busy environment to meet tight deadlines.

  • Professional writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Strong verbal communication skills, relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to exercise tact and judgment in managing internal and external contacts
