Position Summary:
Creative seeks a dynamic Social Media & Communications Associate to join its innovative, award-winning Communications & Marketing Department and External Relations Department. Working in a fast-paced headquarters environment, the ideal candidate must have project management skills, demonstrated attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality content. The selected candidate’s duties involve content creation, event management and office administration, among other activities, in support of Creative’s mission and vision.
Reporting & Supervision:
The selected person will have two reporting relationships: the Senior Manager of Strategic Content ; and the Vice President of External Relations.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
Social Media – 40%
- Planning & management:
- * Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Strategic Content, manage Creative’s social media accounts, which focus primarily on LinkedIn, Facebook and X (Twitter), as well as Glassdoor
- * In addition to Creative’s corporate accounts, provide support to the President & CEO’s official LinkedIn account
- * Collaborate with the team to develop the annual social media strategy and ensure key stakeholders within the organization are aware of their roles and responsibilities
- * Implement and monitor the results of the approved social media strategy
- * Monitor and manage Creative’s corporate social media management accounts, including responding to messages/comments/mentions
- * Build social media audiences across platforms and engage with partners, associations and other organizations to boost Creative’s messages and programs
- Content:
- * Maintain the social media content calendar, including major international days and key holidays
- * Work closely with Communications team members to thoughtfully disseminate their content to target audiences
- * Collaborate with other HQ and Field staff as they develop content for Creative’s social media platforms
- * Write engaging posts that engage with our key audiences
- * Collaborate with HQ and Field team members to identify content developed and posted by Creative’s program offices, partners and clients that may be reposted on Creative’s social media channels
- * Maintain Creative’s YouTube channel, including uploads, organization and any maintenance
- Meetings & events:
- * Develop social media toolkits that are to be used during conferences and engage with HQ and Field staff in their usage of these toolkits
- * Participate in external meetings to provide social media support and coverage
- * Develop original content from conferences and events
- * Collaborate with conference organizers to implement the social media benefits related to our sponsorship
- * Monitoring & metrics:
- * Regularly report on social media analytics and use this data to improve social strategy
- * Monitor the social media feeds of key peer organizations, partners and clients for trends
- * Monitor organizations and influencers who may have an impact on Creative’s reputation as a trusted implementer
- Internal Communications – 20%
- * Collaborate with the Communications, Human Resources, other departments and internal working groups to engage and inform HQ and Field staff about major topics
- * Support All Staff meetings, including meeting announcements, PowerPoint presentations and collaboration with presenters
- Event Management & Support – 10%
- * Create and maintain an annual event calendar where Creative is sponsoring, participating and or organizing
- * Supportand attend Creative-sponsored events
- *
- Administrative – 10%
- * Support Creative’s photo and video libraries
- * Handle administrative tasks, such as consulting agreements, vendor contracts, purchase orders, invoices and more
- External relations – 20%
- * Provide support to the Vice President of External Relations
- * Develop and maintain a list of key contacts within the government and elsewhere
- Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communications skillsin English
- * Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field
- * 1-2 years of experience in similar roles
- * In-depth experience with social media platforms and analytics
- * Ability to produce cogent and compelling written content for distribution on internal and external platforms
- * Basic photography skills
- * Basic video production skills
- * Intermediate-level video editing skills
- * Proven ability to interact and communicate across a variety of stakeholder groups and present complex information in an easily understandable format tailored to each audience
- * Collaborative working stylethatbuildsrelationships with multiple teams, as well as a willingness to learn from others
- * Ability to adapt to changes in workplans, deadlines and priorities
- * Available to travel approximately up to two times per year in the United States and internationally
- Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- * Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere
- * Experience working at a digital media outlet, advertising/PR agency, international development organization is highly desired
- * Experience with organizations like USAID and the State Department is beneficial but not required
- * English is the primary language, though proficiency in a second language is desired

- The Salary Range for this position is expected to be: $54,500 to $68,000
