You will use data and analysis to inform and measure consumer/business marketing and comms initiatives that pursue brand sentiment, product engagement and revenue outcomes. You will influence marketing and comms strategy and investment decisions with data, be focused on impact, and collaborate with other teams. You will help your partner teams prioritize what to invest, set goals, understand their ROI, and drive optimization. Analytics: You will guide teams using data and insights. You will focus on developing hypotheses and employ a diverse toolkit of rigorous analytical approaches, different methodologies, frameworks, and technical approaches to test them. Communication and influence: You won’t simply present data, but tell data-driven stories. You will convince and influence your partners using clear insights and recommendations. You will build credibility through structure and clarity, and be a trusted strategic partner.Marketing Data Scientist ResponsibilitiesWork with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches.Develop quantitative analysis, experimentation, models, tools, and the presentation of data to influence marketing and comms decision making. Analysis areas might include (but not limited to): sentiment, messaging, promotions, usage, engagement, retention, and lifetime value.Identify and measure success of marketing and comms efforts through goal setting, forecasting, monitoring of key business metrics to understand trends.Translate data insights into actions and recommendations that will drive brand sentiment, user growth and engagement, revenue outcomes, and marketing effectiveness.Partner with Marketing, Comms, Research, and Product organizations to scope, design, execute, measure, and improve the impact of our marketing and comms efforts on the world and on our business.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.A minimum of 3 years of work experience in analytics (minimum of 1 year with MBA or PhD).Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R).Statistical modeling and data analysis experience (e.g. significance testing, regression modeling, sampling theory, etc.)Experience communicating with cross-functional stakeholders including brand strategists, marketing researchers, product marketing managers, and engineers.Preferred QualificationsAn MBA or Master’s or Doctorate degree in economics, operational research, mathematics, statistics, engineering, psychology, or another field with strong quantitative roots and demands.Management consulting experience or a similar career requiring one to present data-driven insights to business audiences.LocationsAbout MetaMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
