Maths Academic MentorHounslowMainstream secondary community school students aged 11-16yearsYou will have sessions with 1:3 students and will have a full timetable in school supporting Year 7-11 in Maths within small groups. These focused groups allow individualised targets and guidance. These pupils are reviewed half-termly to allow as many students as possible to have access to high quality support in literacy and numeracy.The school is a thriving, vibrant and caring learning community within which pupils are stretched intellectually and foster a love of learning, whilst feeling valued, happy and safe. Maths Tutor Expectations of all pupils are high, and our school has a reputation for being a happy, friendly, stimulating and caring environment in which everyone is given the opportunity and support to complete their studies successfully and to reach their full potential..The successful candidate will hold a degree & have tutoring experience OR confident to deliver maths interventionsRoles & responsibilities includes:
- delivering tailored programmes which complement ongoing class work, learning objectives and assessment plans along with the class teacher
- work 1-1 or in small groups with students who are falling behind academically to ensure they achieve in upcoming exams
- adapt the content, style, format of the tuition to ensure the most effective results are achieved
- build strong relationships with pupils and school contacts through session delivery, review meetings, tuition progress reports and feedback
Successful candidates will:Have great subject knowledge and the ability to plan and communicate it effectively in 1:1 or small group settings.Be flexible and committed to delivering engaging, challenging, and developmental sessions over the course
