Many of our students also have additional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. As a trauma and attachment-informed organisation, we offer extensive therapeutic training and support to all staff.Our school focuses on a collaborative approach, placing the child at the centre of all decision-making. Our team includes education and therapy professionals, parents/carers, and local authority teams, working closely with students to secure outstanding outcomes.Role Overview:We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of young people with SEMH needs. Our Maths curriculum spans Entry Level, Functional Skills, Key Stage 3, and GCSE, providing opportunities to inspire and challenge students of all abilities.In this role, you will deliver creative and engaging Maths lessons, adapted to meet the individual needs of our students. You will be supported by subject champions and specialist teaching assistants to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed. Our school is looking for a teacher who understands the importance of building nurturing and professional relationships with students, creating a positive learning environment that motivates them to achieve their best.Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Maths lessons for students aged 11-17, tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
  • Work with students on Entry Level, Functional Skills, Key Stage 3, and GCSE Maths.
  • Build positive relationships with students, providing support and consistency in a therapeutic and nurturing environment.
  • Manage challenging behaviour in a calm and flexible manner, using trauma-informed strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s academic curriculum and extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, therapists, and parents/carers to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
  • Participate in the school’s decision-making process, advocating for the needs of every child.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification in Maths.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH, SEND, or other additional needs is highly desirable.
  • Ability to deliver creative and differentiated lessons that engage and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, positive relationships with students.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
