We strive to hire local to support the community.MATRIX is looking for an experienced Automotive or Commercial Transport Mechanic to support ongoing maintenance and repair of our equipment, trucks, generators, all engine types (2 cycle and up). This is a full-time salaried position based in Osoyoos, BC. Hiring preference will be given to residents of Osoyoos and the surrounding area.Responsibilities:

  • Fleet of Ford F-350/F-550, fleet of 20/30/40-foot electric brake big Tex trailers, Caterpillar yard loader (950g), Merlo zoom boom, mobile generators (diesel) for remote camps, small gens, Honda etc., snow machines, Side x Sides, ATV’s, chainsaws (gas), core saws (electric).
  • Overhauls on Bombardier snowcat.
  • Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
  • Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; adjusting and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
  • Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.
  • Oversee vehicle appearance by cleaning and washing.
  • Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Must be willing to work in the shop and field conditions
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • Facilitate and or participate in daily toolbox meetings.
  • Ensure work environment meets corporate safety practices.
  • Report unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.
  • Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

RequirementsRequired Licensing & Certifications:

  • Journeyperson Red Seal Mechanic certification (required, may consider a 4th year apprentice or equivalent combination of work experience)
  • A minimum 3-5 years equipment care and maintenance experience is required.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.
