Job Title: Mechanical Drafter

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Drafter, where you’ll prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information. You will develop design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software. Your role involves coordinating with other workers to design, layout, or detail components and systems, resolving design or other problems, and ensuring that detailed specifications for components or machinery are developed accurately using computer-assisted equipment.

Hard Skills

  • Mechanical design/drafting (heavy equipment or automotive preferred)

  • AutoCAD and PTC Creo preferred

  • Understanding of GD&T

  • Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models

  • Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology

  • Basic knowledge of relevant computer applications such as CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting)

Job Type

This is a long term contract position.

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Rapid City, South Dakota and some days remote.
