- Knowledge of two-phase cooling
- Design and testing of mechanical structures
- Quality control
- Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
- Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the quality control of the thermal performance of the tracker mechanical structures.
- Contributing to the production and quality control of components, as well as integrating the on-detector cooling system.
- Playing a pivotal role in developing advanced mechanical structures for the first layer of the Inner Tracker, preparing for its eventual replacement.
This position offers the chance to contribute significantly to a project at the forefront of developing lightweight mechanical structures and advanced two-phase cooling techniques.
