JOB SUMMARY

Skills and/or knowledge

Knowledge of two-phase cooling
Design and testing of mechanical structures
Quality control
Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

Eligibility criteria:

You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.

Responsibilities

Overseeing the quality control of the thermal performance of the tracker mechanical structures.
Contributing to the production and quality control of components, as well as integrating the on-detector cooling system.
Playing a pivotal role in developing advanced mechanical structures for the first layer of the Inner Tracker, preparing for its eventual replacement.

This position offers the chance to contribute significantly to a project at the forefront of developing lightweight mechanical structures and advanced two-phase cooling techniques.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor Degree
