Assisting instructor of the course with instruction and evaluation of students.McGill University is an English-language university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing.Qualifications:In accordance with the specific needs of the course: Requires public speaking ability. Preferably have been a teaching assistant for the course previously. Past TA duties must include marking or demonstrating or tutoring. Proficiency in English required as assessed by the instructor.MECH 201 – Introduction to Mechanical Engineering:TA for Mech 201 must have competence in CAD (SOLIDWORKS) and experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) and laser cutting. TA must have previously worked with the Faculty of Engineering Workshop Services. Completion of Workshop Training Modules and previous experience with design team activity and design competitions is desirable.MECH 309 – Numerical Methods:Requires public speaking ability. Must previously have taken this course with a good grade. Past TA duties must include marking or demonstrating or tutoring. Proficiency in English required as assessed by the instructor.MECH 321 – Mechanics of Deformable Solids:Requires public speaking ability. Experience with finite element method and solid mechanics necessary. Past TA duties must include marking or demonstrating or tutoring. Proficiency in English required as assessed by the instructor.MECH 362 – Mechanical Laboratory:Requires public speaking ability. Must previously have taken this course or equivalent. Must have completed an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. Past TA duties must include marking or demonstrating or tutoring. Proficiency in English required as assessed by the instructor.MECH 412 – System Dynamics and Control:Requires public speaking ability. Must have completed a course in system dynamics and control. Experience with Matlab/Simulink and MSC ADAMS. Past TA duties must include marking or demonstrating or tutoring. Proficiency in English required as assessed by the instructor.MECH 463 – Mechanical Engineering Project:Requires public speaking ability. Must previously have taken this course or equivalent (hands-on design and build capstone project course). Experience with WebCT environment is an asset. Past TA duties must include marking or demonstrating or tutoring. Proficiency in English required as assessed by the instructor.Total Hours of Work per Term:
