As we expand our staffing services, we’re excited to offer new contract opportunities for Medical Laboratory Technicians across Canada!QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:Medical Laboratory Technician License/Certification in good standing through the respected Provincial Licensing BodyVulnerable Sector Check renewed within the yearProfessional Liability Insurance MANDATORYSKILLS & ABILITY:High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and laboratory information systemsAbility to think critically and multitask in a high-pressure laboratory environmentAbility to organize and manage laboratory workflows and collaborate effectively with healthcare teamsDemonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team; establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships, exercising judgment in specimen processing, analysis, and reporting according to standardsBehavior consistent with the laboratory’s Standards of PerformanceBASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform duties according to the Standards of Professional Practice set out by the respected Provincial Licensing Body and in compliance with the policies, procedures, and standards of the facilityAccept clinical responsibility and professional accountability for accurate and timely laboratory testing and reportingParticipate as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, fulfilling responsibilities related to specimen collection, processing, and analysisComply with The Ethical Framework for Medical Laboratory TechniciansSPECIFIC DUTIES:Collect, prepare, and analyze biological specimens such as blood, urine, and tissue samples using automated and manual laboratory equipmentPerform routine and specialized laboratory tests to detect abnormalities or monitor patient health statusEnsure all laboratory instruments are properly calibrated, maintained, and functioning optimallyMaintain detailed and accurate records of specimens, test results, and quality control activitiesAdhere to safety protocols, including sterilization, handling of biohazard materials, and reporting any equipment malfunctionsComply with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures, including Occupational Health and Safety Act and related legislationCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Must comply with:Human Resource, Corporation, and Department PoliciesMust provide satisfactory vulnerable sector checkMust maintain Medical Laboratory Technician License/Certification in good standing through the respected Provincial Licensing Body
