*Only candidates currently living in Canada, with the legal right to work here, will be considered***Posting expires on June 24, 2024 at 23:59 Eastern TimeRESPONSIBILITIES:JOB PURPOSE:As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) you will be responsible for applying your non-promotional medical acumen to ensure the safe and effective use of GSK’s products, through impactful scientific interactions and support of key external and internal stakeholders in alignment to the therapeutic area Medical Plan. As the MSL within the territory you will collaborate with field partners in a stakeholder-centric approach to provide credible scientific clinical information about our vaccines to healthcare professionals, external experts, organizations and decision-makers in a manner consistent with GSK’s principles for scientific engagement. This role is a therapeutically aligned, field-based position where frequent travel within British Columbia is required.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:You will be expected to:Identify, establish, and maintain scientific peer-to-peer relationships with key external experts by presenting balanced scientific data, supporting advanced medical educational opportunities, and providing scientific support with the highest of industry standards following GSK values, policies, standards, applicable laws, and regulations.Be recognized as the scientific field-based partner in the territory and maintain a deep understanding and knowledge of diseases, vaccines, treatments, and the competitive landscape to ensure excellent scientific dialogue and clinical knowledge translation aligned to business strategy.Be agile and adaptable to engage and provide value across a continuum of both internal and external stakeholders (i.e., external experts and other healthcare professionals, investigators, professional societies, organizations, advocacy groups, and decision-makers) in a non-promotional manner and be responsive to unsolicited inquires.Be a proactive and solutions-oriented partner as the primary interface between the healthcare community and the internal cross-functional GSK teams to gather and share back insights that inform current and future business strategies.Represents GSK at scientific congresses by leading external expert engagement plans, providing session/abstract coverage, booth staffing coverage, and contributing to scientific end of congress summaries/share-backs as required.Provide scientific training for GSK commercial colleagues regarding GSK products and the conditions they treat utilizing approved sales training materials.Assist the medical, clinical and HEOR teams with evidence generation projects as needed, and support identification of potential clinical trial sites for clinical development activities in Canada as required.QUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED:Excellent English scientific/medical discussion (fluent written and verbal communication)An advanced post-graduate scientific degree (MD, Ph.D., PharmD)Successful candidates must reside within British ColumbiaExceptional aptitude to apply, leverage and present scientific data with credibility and purpose while enabling peer-to-peer discussion is essential.Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on cross-functional teamwork and strategic execution of medical affairs plan in alignment to overarching business strategy within your territory.Knowledge of regulations governing medical information exchange with healthcare professionals within the Canadian pharmaceutical environment.Sound negotiation, territory and team leadership, and organization skills.Familiarity with reimbursement processes in CanadaA valid driver’s license is required for this field-based position.Ability to travel throughout the territory up to 70% with evenings and weekends involvedPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS3-5+ years previous experience in a medical affairs position (preferably field-based) with established relationships/networks in cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology therapeutic areas is strongly preferred#LI-GSKWhy GSK?Uniting science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together.GSK is a global biopharma company with a special purpose – to unite science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together – so we can positively impact the health of billions of people and deliver stronger, more sustainable shareholder returns – as an organisation where people can thrive.
