GGGI has a diverse portfolio of programs in developing countries and emerging economies around the world. GGGI has a unique in-country presence and prominent role as a neutral, trusted advisor and strategic development partner embedded in Member and partner governments. GGGI has been present in Guyana since 2018. It has supported the Government of Guyana and collaborated with donors and other partners in three main areas: renewable energy, forest and land-use management, adaptation, and coastal resilient projects.
Based in Georgetown, the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Associate position for the Guyana Country Program at GGGI will ensure the appropriate implementation of the MEL processes aligned to GGGI’s policies and processes, and provide capacity building and training at a country level in MEL related topics. The MEL Associate will report to the Program Manager in Guyana and Country Representative with a dual technical reporting line to the Regional MEL Senior Associate, while receiving guidance from project managers and frequently engaging with the Regional Office and, as needed, the Impact and Evaluation Unit (IEU) in headquarters.
The MEL Associate plays a pivotal role as the country’s MEL focal point, operationalizing GGGI’s MEL framework at the country level, , designing and implementing project MEL plans, and championing results monitoring and reporting in the Guyana team.
Additionally, the MEL Associate will collaborate with project managers to create tailored MEL tools for effective monitoring and evaluation, assist in internal and external reporting, and compile lessons learned to refine GGGI’s MEL methodologies.
The MEL Associate, in coordination with the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Regional Office, will support the organization of capacity building and training activities on MEL aspects, such as developing strong logframes and indicators, MEL plan design and operationalization, data collection tools, data analysis and visualization and other relevant MEL skills. The MEL Associate will ensure monitoring and reporting integrity in the Guyana Country Program.
