The primary purpose of the Metrics Analyst is to establish, implement, and publish strategic measurements and metrics pertaining to law enforcement and security activities that are aligned with the departmental and institutional business goals and objectives. Impacts departmental operations and decision making through data collection, data management, data analysis and data visualization tools.

KEY FUNCTIONS

Planning and Research Conducts complex research on behalf of divisional operations and planning efforts. Partners with division executives to develop content and presentations in support of initiatives and industry trends and practices. Assists in the planning and facilitation of divisional and institutional activities.

Data Analysis Conduct research, analyzes and data collection from a variety of sources to identify and evaluate various law enforcement and security activities, including but not limited to strategic planning, emergency preparedness, staffing models, security technology, and performance and value metrics programs and initiatives. Develops and utilizes data visualization tools to develop dashboards in support of operational and strategic efforts.

Metrics and Measure Coordinate division’s shared purpose council and operational readiness efforts. Partner with stakeholders to understand data, measures, and trends. Assist departmental data stewards in development, implementation, and maintenance of data structures.

Other duties to include, but not limited to, emergency recall and/or may be required to remain onsite or work extended hours during man-made or natural disasters and unusual occurrences on campus. Local or long distance travel may be required for training or other business purposes occasionally.

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Statistic, Healthcare Administration or related field.

Preferred Education: Master’s Level Degree

Experience Required : Five years experience in data analysis. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, three years experience in data analysis.
