The Job

The Mexico Merchandising Analyst is responsible for the execution and operation of aspects related to Ace’s assortments and specific category/categories. This role collaborates closely with the overseeing Merchant and utilizes data and analysis to effectively implement strategic plans. The primary objective is to ensure the efficient and profitable delivery of relevant and high-quality assortments to Ace retailers and wholesale customers based on the strategies defined by the Merchant.

The Merchandising Analyst:

• Utilize knowledge acquired from the categories under the merchant’s responsibility to understand consumer demands and industry trends, providing valuable insights.

• Collaborate closely with the Merchant in developing inbound and outbound product strategies across all channels, working with internal teams such as Supply Chain, planograms, finance, and others to achieve company’s desired and planned results.

• Take part in executing all aspects of the assortment strategy, from creation to development, ensuring successful implementation at the retail level. Assist in the development and execution of a clear strategic plan provided by the merchant.

• Work alongside the merchant to identify and create opportunities for Ace retailers and wholesale customers to enhance their net profits. This includes strategies to reduce product costs, increase overall sales, and offer relevant, differentiated assortments for consumers.

• The Commercial Analyst role is vital in supporting the Merchant’s efforts through collaborative data analysis, strategic planning, and plan execution to optimize product assortments and drive business growth.

What you’ll do:

Strategy and Business Analysis:

Assist the merchant in communicating the business vision and opportunities for category growth.

• Conduct data analysis and prepare reports to support strategic decision-making by the merchant

• Aid in managing the category growth plan and SKU tracking assigned by the merchant

Product Catalog Management:

Coordinate the introduction of new products, ensuring the integrity of information and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

• Keep files and formats updated to reflect changes in costs, prices, descriptions, and UPC codes.

• Oversee the activation and discontinuation of products, working closely with the corresponding teams.

• Download and analyze sales data to provide valuable insights into product performance.

• Facilitate the efficient and accurate transmission of sales data to suppliers

Category Analysis:

Assist the merchant in determining category selection and objectives for assortments.

• Collaborate in the evaluation and selection of suppliers.

• Contribute to the development of execution plans and incentive strategies to drive adoption at the point of sale, based on the strategy provided by merchant

Promotional Planning and Analysis:

Assist the merchant in planning and negotiating supplier marketing assessments.

• Contribute to the development of promotional calendars and analysis of the performance of previous promotions

Retailer Communication and Relations:

• Participate in meetings with retail groups and store visits.

• Support the communication of new programs, changes, or issues through the Merchant strategy

• Assist in building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Inventory and Supply Chain Support:

Collaborate in identifying and resolving supplier service issues.

• Assist in inventory planning, especially for promotional items.

Financial Analysis:

Participate and assist in managing wholesale product profitability by analyzing income and commercial conditions.

• Assist the merchant to maintaining agreements for New Store Allowances and funds for category growth.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
