Salary: £30,000 – £34,000 per annum

Help shape healthier, greener journeys across Bradford.

Do you believe every child should have the opportunity to walk, wheel, cycle or use public transport safely and confidently?

Are you passionate about creating healthier communities, influencing positive behaviour change and working with schools to make a lasting difference?

If so, we’d love to hear from you.

At Modeshift, we’re on a mission to transform everyday journeys across the UK. As a not-for-profit organisation, we work with schools, businesses, local authorities and communities to make active and sustainable travel the easy choice. Our nationally recognised STARS programme is helping thousands of organisations improve health, reduce congestion, enhance road safety and cut carbon emissions.

We’re now looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Modeshift STARS Officer to lead the growth of the programme across Bradford.

About the Role

This is a varied, rewarding and highly visible role where no two days are the same.

You’ll work closely with schools, workplaces, Bradford Council and a wide range of local partners, supporting them to develop high-quality Travel Plans and achieve Modeshift STARS accreditation.

You’ll inspire schools to embed active travel into everyday life, deliver engaging workshops and training sessions, build lasting partnerships and celebrate the fantastic work taking place across the district.

You’ll also help identify opportunities for new initiatives, support road safety projects and use data to demonstrate the positive impact of the programme.

Ultimately, your work will help more children, families and employees make healthier, safer and more sustainable journeys every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building strong relationships with schools, workplaces and local partners across Bradford.
  • Supporting organisations to develop and deliver successful Travel Plans.
  • Delivering engaging training, workshops and one-to-one support.
  • Growing participation in the Modeshift STARS programme.
  • Helping schools achieve national accreditation.
  • Delivering the Active Travel Inspector programme in primary schools.
  • Monitoring performance, analysing data and reporting on outcomes.
  • Promoting best practice and sharing inspiring success stories.

About You

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people and is passionate about making a positive difference.

You’ll be confident communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders and able to motivate others to embrace new ideas.

You may already have experience working in:

  • Sustainable or active travel
  • Education
  • Behaviour change programmes
  • Community engagement
  • Public health
  • Road safety
  • Local government
  • Environmental or sustainability projects

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who can build trusted relationships, organise multiple projects, communicate with confidence and inspire others to take action.

Why Join Modeshift?

At Modeshift, you’ll become part of a supportive, passionate team committed to creating healthier, cleaner and more connected communities.

In return, we offer:

  • Salary of £30,000-£34,000
  • Home-based working with flexibility
  • 3% employer pension contribution
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Laptop and mobile phone
  • Travel expenses
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to communities across Bradford every single day

Ready to Make an Impact?

If you’re looking for a role where you can combine relationship building, project delivery and environmental purpose, we’d love to hear from you.

Join Modeshift and help shape the future of sustainable travel in Bradford.
