Permanent and Full-Time (37 hours per week)The role combines onsite work with the possibility of working from home. And much more…An exciting opportunity is available for a Molecular Ecologist or Environmental Microbiologist, with a demonstrable interest in bioinformatics to join our Molecular Ecology group.Our research focuses on applying genomics to study the composition and functions of biological communities in terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems. Working across UKCEH, our research themes include using molecular analysis (DNA sequencing) to study microbial ecology, biodiversity, antimicrobial resistance and ecotoxicology. You will have access to world-class laboratories, including high-throughput sequencing, single-cell imaging and sorting, and high-performance computing (HPC).We are looking for a researcher with a background in molecular ecology, either microbial ecology or environmental DNA, and experience in computational analysis and environmental genomics to support our bioinformatics and data analysis capabilities.We will also consider candidates with experience in computational analysis and a proven desire to work in environmental science.
