Under the strategic guidance of the Resident Representative and direct supervision of the Deputy Resident Representative (Programme), the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Analyst promotes results-based management and a programme effectiveness approach by leading the implementation of innovative and effective monitoring and evaluation frameworks, systems and tools. The M&E Analyst provides technical support on M&E and reporting practices to programme and project teams. Where relevant the M&E Analyst will also support programme quality assurance and developing relevant systems. The M&E Analyst promotes a collaborative, efficient, client-focused, evidence-based, and portfolio management approach.
The M&E Analyst will collaborates closely with Programme, Operations and project teams in the Country Office, UNDP HQ staff, programme staff in other UN agencies, Government officials and donors on programme/project implementation and monitoring and evaluation issues and practices.
UNDP adopts a portfolio approach to accommodate changing business needs and leverage linkages across interventions to achieve its strategic goals. Therefore, UNDP personnel are expected to work across units, functions, teams, and projects in multidisciplinary teams in order to enhance and enable horizontal collaboration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement and participate in the design of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, systems, and tools, and as applicable, conduct programme quality assurance in keeping with corporate policies.
Ensure coordination and efficient support to monitoring, reporting, evaluation and results-based management of Country Office programmes and projects.
Support capacity building and facilitate knowledge building and sharing on monitoring, evaluation and results-based management in CO.
Contributes to all relevant UNDP Country Office corporate exercises
