How can you make a difference?

  Conduct capacity building activities for young return volunteers to equip them with the skills and knowledge required to deliver effective Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) to at-risk communities, especially those recently relocated internally displaced persons (IDPs). The activities should include practical training sessions, role-playing, and interactive modules.	Training sessions held, with attendance records and feedback collected from participants.	6 days
  Facilitate EORE activities within the communities, including awareness training sessions, talks, discussions, and distribution of information to residents. These activities will be led by the trained young return volunteers in Tartar, Zangilan, Fuzuli, Lachin, Shusha and Khojaly districts.	Detailed reports of community based EORE activities conducted, including the number of sessions, participants, feedback, and impact assessments.	10 days

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Education, Skills building, behaviour change, social sciences and teaching.
• At least 5 years of professional work experience in the field of social work, child/adolescent development, and/or support to volunteer/youth activities.
• Understanding of EORE principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Proven experience in training and capacity building, particularly with young people and community volunteers.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively plan, execute, and monitor training activities. Excellent communication and facilitation skills to engage and motivate participants effectively.
• Experience in working with developmental partners, including UN, and governmental partners.
• Previous work experience in conflict-affected or post-conflict regions.
• Previous work experience with NGOs and volunteers.
• Excellent Azerbaijani communication and writing skills.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws. 

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
