The National Project Associate will perform the role of national focal point to provide technical and secretariat support to the National COMMIT Taskforce and partners in coordination with regional technical specialists and programmatic team members of the regional Recovery Solutions and Human Mobility at UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub.

Details of Key Functions:

Technical support and stakeholder engagement:

The National Project Associate will provide technical support to the National COMMIT Taskforce and partners on COMMIT related activities including:

  • Support the National COMMIT Taskforce and partners in the development of the 5th COMMIT Subregional Plan of Action (SPAV) and any related ongoing/subsequent implementation of COMMIT SPAs.
  • Support the preparation and reporting for the 2024 COMMIT Regional Taskforce Meeting (RTF) and Senior Officials Meeting (SOM).
  • Monitor and evaluate progress towards country level programme outputs and goals linked to the COMMIT Process, and consolidate information on results, challenges, and lessons learned for donor reporting upon request.
  • Provide technical support to the implementation of national level activities, trainings and workshops and in design and implementation of anti-trafficking activities.
  • Support partner agencies in design and implementation of anti-trafficking activities.
  • Represent UNDP in external meetings and coordinate with relevant anti-trafficking partners and mechanisms.
  • Project Management and Administrative activities

The National Project Associate will carry out related tasks upon request and discussion:

  • Provide financial management support for the effective implementation of the programmes/ projects.
  • Provide administrative and logistic support to projects planning and implementation.
  • Support overall management, planning and implementation of the project’s national level outputs and activities.
  • Support to knowledge building and knowledge sharing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the regional Recovery Solutions and Human Mobility team at BRH.
  • The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Required Skills and Experience:

Education:

  • Secondary education is required.
  • A first-level university degree in social science, political science, project management, humanities, law, international development, migration studies, management or relevant field will be given due consideration but not a requirement.

Experience:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years (with secondary education) or four (4) years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant project support experience at the national or international level is required.
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and advanced knowledge web-based management systems such as ERP and advanced programmes for statistical analysis of data.
  • Proven ability to work under minimum supervision in a complex environment.
  • Experience and understanding of current national anti-human trafficking mechanisms and stakeholders is an asset.
  • Knowledge/experience of gender and human-rights issues an advantage.
  • Experience in budget management is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive working experience in human trafficking and/or migration related projects at the national or international level.
  • Experiences in providing office management support including finance, administrative, procurement and logistical supports.
  • Progressive working experience in development projects.
  • Experiences working with UN organizations, donor agencies, national or international NGOs and/or government counterparts is desirable.

Required Languages:    

  • Fluency in spoken and written Khmer and English is required.
