Salary: £31,022 to £36,363, per annum
Contract: Full time (37 hours per week), fixed term until February 2028
Location: Grassington and Pateley Bridge (working across both sites as part of a 50/50 split role)
We’re looking for a Natural Health Service Coordinator to join our friendly Access and Engagement Team, working across a partnership project with Nidderdale National Landscape.
You’ll be employed by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority in a 50/50 split role, working both with our team and on secondment to the Nidderdale National Landscape team.
In this role, you’ll design and deliver a 10-week social prescribing programme that helps people build confidence, improve wellbeing and reconnect with nature through walking and outdoor activity.
This post is part of the wider Natural Health Service for North Yorkshire project, working alongside protected landscape partners across the county.
You’ll be employed by us, with a formal secondment agreement in place for 50% of your time with the Nidderdale National Landscape team. In practice, this means working across both organisations, delivering activity equally in the Yorkshire Dales and Nidderdale areas. You’ll have a key day-to-day contact in Nidderdale, while remaining part of our Access and Engagement Team.
We are the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, an organisation that protects, enhances and promotes the immense beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the Yorkshire Dales. Set against expansive heather moorland tops, each valley has its own distinct charm, from crags and waterfalls to an underground labyrinth of caves.
Our partner organisation, Nidderdale National Landscape, conserves and enhances the natural beauty of the National Landscape. The team is made up of a group of dedicated professionals working on natural and cultural heritage projects and is based in Pateley Bridge.
This is a joint role, with your time and delivery split evenly between the Yorkshire Dales and Nidderdale, working with both teams on a day-to-day basis. The role involves regular travel between bases. Additional travel costs beyond your normal commute will be reimbursed in line with our policies.
You’ll deliver inclusive walking and nature-based activities that support people experiencing poor mental or physical health to become more active and connected to nature. Working as part of a wider partnership of protected landscapes, including the North York Moors National Park and Howardian Hills, you’ll also build links with health, social care and voluntary sector partners, while helping to monitor and demonstrate the impact of the programme.
Key Responsibilities:
You’ll bring experience of delivering outdoor group activities that support wellbeing, along with a good understanding of people facing barriers such as poor health, low activity levels or social isolation.
You’ll also have:
Please note: this post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Access to a car or access to a means of mobility support to meet travel demands of the post is essential (if driving must have a current valid driving licence and appropriate business insurance), as you will be required to travel in order to undertake this post.
We believe our National Parks should be for everyone.
We’re proud to be a Disability Confident employer. If you have a disability and meet the essential criteria, we guarantee you an interview.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.

Closing date: 11.00pm on Sunday, 12 July 2026
