Are you keen to use your skills, passion and experience to help drive the development of a
sustainable Nature Economy across Derbyshire? If so, we may have the perfect job for you.
Nature is in decline, and we need to put it into recovery. The drivers for nature’s decline
come from income being generated by converting natural capital into economic capital. We can
identify a range of mechanisms to generate income without this conversion, creating a financial
incentive to deliver nature’s recovery and a truly sustainable Nature Economy.
As Nature Economy Manager you’ll be part of a new team at DWT which will establish itself as a
proven sector leader in successfully unlocking and embedding economic solutions that are
nature-positive, net zero and socially just.
You will lead the development and maintenance of an innovative and sustainable workstream, with
others across the Trust, to pilot new approaches that sustainably deliver nature’s recovery,
especially in the developing markets for Ecosystem Services (e.g., Biodiversity Net-Gain,
Carbon Credits, Nutrient Neutrality, Eco Tourism).
To be successful you will be keen to pilot new solutions that are still in development phase,
have experience of working at the interface between nature and the economy, with proven success
in planning, managing and implementing complex and evolving programmes.

We’re committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and believe that everyone should have
access to nature. We expect people to work harmoniously with each other and with volunteers,
and to provide help and guidance to others when needed. As a small charity, our employees need
to be willing to be flexible about working arrangements and willing to provide occasional cover
for absent staff. We want people to develop professionally and personally while working with us
and employees are encouraged to participate in the range of opportunities available to enable
this.
Derbyshire Wildlife Trust is an equal opportunities employer that strives to be a diverse and
inclusive environment in which everyone is valued. We welcome applications from eligible

religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
We recognise that our workforce needs to represent the communities and people we work with. We
particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups within Derbyshire Wildlife
Trust and the wider charity and conservation sector, such as people from Black and
Ethnic Minority backgrounds and those who identify as LGBTQ+.
