Fisheries Management Scotland is pleased to announce an immediate vacancy for a Nature Finance
Manager. This is an exciting new post that will fulfil a key coordinating role delivering a
wide range of interesting and new work to complete the development and launch of the ‘Scottish
Rivers Fund’ (SRF). Working alongside Fishery Management Scotland’s (FMS) Director for Nature
Finance the main part of the job will be to coordinate aspects of the Fund’s development
including governance, marketing, and operational development with other members of the project
team. The postholder will also support corporate engagement work with businesses to source
finance through environmental social and governance (ESG) interests and commitments that will
drive river catchment restoration action across Scotland.
The work aligns with Scottish Government’s Natural Capital Market Framework, Wild Salmon
Strategy, Scottish Biodiversity Strategy, and the Fishery Management Plans developed by FMS’s
members. This project is supported by The Facility for Investment Ready Nature in Scotland
(FIRNS), delivered by NatureScot in collaboration with The Scottish Government and in
partnership with the National Lottery Heritage Fund. [1].
Duration
The job is available for an immediate start and is for an initial period to the end of March
2026 with the possibility of extension beyond this period, subject to a successful delivery of
the project and launch of the Scottish Rivers Fund.
Remuneration
The salary is in the region of £36,000 – 38,700 plus a 9% employer pension contribution. FMS is
a Fair work first employer.
Location
Fisheries Management Scotland is based in Edinburgh. The successful applicant can be based
anywhere within Scotland and FMS supports hybrid working. The job will include a limited amount
of paid travel from their agreed working base as required. There will be a requirement for
occasional in-person meetings with the FMS and FIRNS project teams.
