International Center for Future Generations vzw
How (un)likely are neurotechnologies to be adopted by the mainstream consumer market?
This is the question we’d like you to work on. You love doing market analysis, especially in the tech sector? You’re a recent graduate, looking to take on an extra challenge, or doing a PhD in economics, business, or marketing? You are excited to make an impact with your work? Then please, read on!
Currently available neurotechnology market studies either focus on medical neurotechnology, or they group medical and consumer technologies together. Thus, ICFG is launching a study specifically on the consumer neurotechnology market landscape, which will clarify the state of play today and inform our future research into the ethics and governance of neurotechnology.
In summary, this is the project scope:
- Main question: What is the realistic feasibility of mass adoption of consumer neurotechnologies by society? And what is the expected timeframe?
- Objective: Comprehensively analyze the current and projected future state of the consumer neurotechnology market, focusing on key trends, investments, business models, barriers and catalysts influencing mass adoption.
- Target audience: ICFG, as well as the whole community working on the ethics and regulation of neurotechnology.
- Deliverables:
- Detailed market analysis report, possibly including stakeholder interviews
- Presentation(s) of findings
- Consumer market tracking tool – to be updated annually by ICFG
