Department | Center for State Health Policy |
Salary | Commensurate With Experience |
Posting Summary |
The Rutgers Center for State Health Policy (Center/CSHP) within the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research (IFH), a unit of Rutgers Health, is recruiting for highly skilled, enthusiastic non-tenure-track faculty at the Assistant Research Professor rank to contribute to the Center’s extensive Medicaid research and policy analysis portfolio.
The faculty hired under this recruitment will contribute to the evaluation of the NJ FamilyCare Comprehensive Demonstration Waiver and other work that explores opportunities to improve care for Medicaid beneficiaries and related populations. We seek to appoint up to three assistant research professors who will serve as core members-in-residence within the CSHP/IFH.
The ideal candidate(s) will have experience applying rigorous research methods to evaluate Medicaid program innovations, including applying quasi-experimental causal inference techniques in the analysis of Medicaid claims and related datasets. Candidates who have demonstrated excellence in working with Medicaid program leadership and other non-academic/research audiences and those with strong understanding of Medicaid policy and operations are preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
It is expected that the faculty member will develop funding proposals to support their independent research agenda. The continuing availability of CSHP support for independent research over time is contingent on progress toward receipt of extramural funding. The Center will provide support to assist in proposal development. The faculty member is expected to include other CSHP and IFH faculty as collaborators and cover time of Center staff on the proposals that they develop, to the extent consistent with the scientific needs of those proposals.
Finalists for the position will be asked to provide three letters of recommendation. The initial contract appointment will be for one year, renewable for annual or multi-year periods, depending on productivity, overall performance, and continued availability of funding.
