About Us

The City of London Corporation manages 11,000 acres (approximately 4,500 hectares) of land in
and around London that is enjoyed by over 16 million visitors annually. Whilst there are small
pockets of land within the Square Mile, the majority can be found elsewhere in London and the
surrounding counties. The City Corporation acts as Trustee of 10 charities which, through their
various objects, are responsible for the preservation in perpetuity of a large proportion of
these award-winning open spaces.

The Role

The Ranger is the frontline face of our open spaces and critical to ensuring a safe, welcoming
customer experience to all users and maintaining the high standards required for the Green Flag
Award and other nationally recognised standards. The Ranger will play a dynamic role in

community groups, continuing with the upkeep of sports pitches and facilities, and supporting
events and entertainment across the department. The Ranger will have team leading
responsibilities and will be expected to work collaboratively with the Senior Ranger in
planning the tasks for the team. This is an exciting and fast-paced role working in one of
London’s most unique open spaces where no two days are alike.
