North Sea Marine Planning Officer

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations
and seeks to appoint a North Sea Marine Planning Officer. As the Trust seeks to significantly
enhance our influence in the marine planning system, this is a rare opportunity for an
experienced and motivated individual to take on a role contributing toward a more sustainably
managed North Sea.

The role will lead on responses to marine development applications, with a focus on large scale
infrastructure projects in the North Sea region (largely associated with energy development).
The post holder will build robust connections with the relevant networks, developers, advisory
groups, individuals and other relevant contacts.

Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of marine planning policy and the planning consent
process and experience of responding to and influencing large scale energy and/or
infrastructure development applications. They will be experienced networkers, used to
negotiating with a wide range of partners to build consensus. The candidate will be highly
organised, and able to analyse significant technical documentation with particular attention to
detail.

How to apply:

Please submit an up-to-date CV and supporting statement. When writing your supporting
statement, please refer to the person specification within the job description, and ensure you
describe your relevant knowledge, skills and experience relevant to the role. Ideally, your CV
and supporting statement should be in an editable format, such as Word, so we can anonymise
your documents prior to the short-listing process. Please DO NOT include any personal details
(name, address etc) on your supporting statement.

Closing date: Sunday 9th June at midnight
