What you will do
- Elaborate and maintain an up-to-date database daily, ensuring it accurately reflects field data collected through various field data collection sheets. The database should consistently represent the actual field situation.
- Generate and manage customized data collection sheets for beneficiaries based on their specific needs.
- Actively participate in field data collection and ensure data quality and completeness.
- Assist in preparing data and sampling plans for surveys, ensuring all necessary materials are organized.
- Prepare and submit weekly target monitoring reports and comprehensive monthly reports to track program progress and identify potential issues early.
- Collaborate closely with the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) department to ensure timely and accurate data sharing according to internal protocols.
- Ensure all protection-related data cases are detected and referred to the designated referral focal point and Protection Coordinator.
- Assist in developing new and efficient methods for data collection to improve accuracy, effectiveness, and timeliness in reporting.
- Provide support in testing new ICT equipment and applications, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all program activities are implemented in compliance with NRC’s Protection Mainstreaming Guidelines.
- Immediately report any breaches or concerns to the line manager or relevant focal points for prompt corrective action.
- Adhere to NRC’s ICT policies, procedures, and the Global ICT Strategy, ensuring compliance with information security and data privacy standards.
- Provide information and support to staff regarding the department’s ICT policies and procedures.
- Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of ICT hardware, software, and services required for program implementation.
- Identify and address any ICT-related issues, including troubleshooting equipment or systems problems to ensure smooth operation.
Specifically, you will.
- Elaborate and maintain the outputs database daily based on field data collection sheets, ensuring it accurately reflects the field situation.
- Generate data collection sheets for selected beneficiaries, carry out data collection as needed, and prepare data and sampling for surveys.
- Update the online Shelter-WASH database and other relevant databases in accordance with shelter and WASH activities.
- Maintain, monitor, archive, and report on hard copy files, while cross-checking databases for conflicts and flagging data discrepancies.
- Report on shelter and WASH activity progress weekly and as requested and prepare specific data for NRC Core Competencies.
- Design internal monitoring and reporting tools with support from the database officer.
- Ensure proper documentation for beneficiary contracts and subsequent payments and organize/manage beneficiary files with all necessary documentation.
- Support the process of payments and contract signatures as needed.
- Coordinate with the M&E department on data sharing, prepare weekly target monitoring reports, and generate monthly reports.
- Ensure protection mainstreaming in program activities, report any breaches or concerns to the line manager, and refer protection-related cases to the appropriate referral focal point and Protection Coordinator.
- Install, maintain, monitor, and update operating systems, software upgrades, security patches, and user applications.
- Provide routine support for resolving Windows issues, setting up Okta accounts, and NRC applications.
- Maintain internet and network connectivity in NRC offices/centers, track and manage ICT assets, and troubleshoot printers.
- Prepare and configure laptops for new employees, ensure licensing compliance for all software, and collaborate with Logistics for ICT asset management and procurement recommendations.
- Ensure proper filing of documents related to the support department as per NRC policies and procedures.
- Support the M&E Department with data cleaning and collection tasks, and perform any other related tasks requested by the line manager.
Professional competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, IT, Data Management, Social Work, Social Sciences, Economics, Computer Science, CCE, or other relevant fields.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant position with humanitarian organizations or in Information Technology.
- Solid understanding of quantitative data processing and experience with data management software and tools (spreadsheets, SQL, ODK, etc.).
- Knowledge of Kobo Collect, Google Earth, SPSS, or other analytical software is a plus.
- Experience in information management, analysis, and M&E approaches and techniques.
- Strong reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in both Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
