Job Description:DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs all Nuclear Medicine procedures to produce imaging, and high quality diagnostic studies via practice of radiation safety procedures and adherence to a strict code of aseptic techniques.
Performs cardiac stress test
Follows ALARA principal and adheres to CNSC guidelines and regulations.
Follows established guidelines for dispensing, administering and disposing of radioactive substances.
Performs Quality Assurance procedures as set by departmental standards.
Performs area wipe tests, contamination monitoring and decontaminations.
Provides optimum patient care and demonstrates a professional manner in the work setting.
Actively participates in team building concepts, and development of departmental goals.
Participates in teaching and training students and hospital employees, and communicates with Clinical Coordinator on student progress/problems.
Organizes, prioritizes and co-ordinates scheduling of procedures, communicates verbally with appropriate personnel re: procedure types, equipment failures, policies and procedures.
Assists, instructs, and educates patients prior to, during, and after procedure.
Assists in maintaining records, data entry in NMIS and PACS archives/retrieves.
Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Current Registration and good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
CPR or BCLS certification mandatory.
Recent Hot Lab experience (i.e. preparing radiopharmaceutical kits).
Completion of ECG courses an asset.
Completion of PET courses an asset.
Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal/written), and organization skills.
