This is an exciting opportunity to work within a team model with a coordinated approach to ensure safe, effective, and timely care for patients.This nurse practitioner position will support the Langley Mental Health Centre, in Langley BC. If you are flexible, have initiative and interest in supporting comprehensive care for adults living with moderate to severe mental health conditions and complex medical needs this may be the role for you.Located in the heart of the Fraser Valley, Langley is recognized as the valley’s designated wine country and the horse capital of British Columbia. Its seven unique communities have quickly grown into one thriving city offering all the amenities of a major bustling urban centre, all while preserving its hometown country roots.This is a great opportunity for a new Nurse Practitioner to join a well supported program to help consolidate clinical skills. Be part of our clinical enhancement program with regular in-house skills development such as suturing and x-ray interpretation in addition to receiving centralized NP orientation. You will be welcomed into a New Graduate NP Community of Practice team helping to support your successful transition into independent practice.This position will also have a new and exciting postgraduate up to 6-month nurse practitioner residency program. You will receive in depth in house advanced training within a clinical area relevant to the position, improve your team collaboration and develop a model of patient centred care. This is a competency-based residency and mentorship program to support the development of new NP knowledge and building on competencies for NP practice. FH is the first health authority to implement a formal residency program for NPs in the province, which will be key to supporting the development of NPs and practice-readiness in select programs. The residency will consist of dedicated time for both didactic learning and hands-on clinical experiences.During your residency, you’ll receive:

You can also visit us on and .| | | Detailed Overview:Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:The Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for the comprehensive assessment of patients/clients/residents including diagnosing diseases, disorders, and conditions. The Nurse Practitioner initiates treatment including health care management, therapeutic interventions and prescribes medications in accordance with the statutory and regulatory standards, limits, and conditions, and employer policies and procedures. The Nurse Practitioner provides professional guidance to other health professionals and practices autonomously and interdependently within the context of an interdisciplinary health care team, making referrals to specialist physicians and others as appropriate.The position collaborates with patients/clients/residents and other health professionals to identify and assess trends and patterns that have implications for patients/clients/residents, families and communities; develops and implements population and evidence based strategies to improve health and participates in policy-making activities that influence health services and practices. The position participates in peer review and self review to evaluate the outcome of services at the patient/client/resident, community and population level. Responsibilities: * Diagnoses and treats previously undiagnosed patients/clients/residents for undifferentiated diseases, disorders, and conditions within the Nurse Practitioner’s scope of practice; writes orders for treatment and medications; provides first line care in emergencies.
Qualifications: Education and ExperienceCurrent practicing registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).Recent relevant clinical nursing experience.CompetenciesDemonstrates the leadership practices of the Fraser Health Leadership Framework of Clear, Caring and Courageous and creates the conditions for people to succeed.Professional/Technical Capabilities
