Job DescriptionUE07 £40,247 to £47,874 per annumFull-time: 35 hours per weekFixed term: Funded until 30/5/2027We are looking for a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to investigate the health effects of diet in early childhood in the UK. The fellow will work with Prof Geraldine McNeill and Dr Alexa Bellows in the Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Systems.The Opportunity:We have an exciting opportunity for a Nutrition Research Fellow to join an NIHR funded project on the Health Effects of Diet in Young Children in the UK. The project primarily involves analysis of cross-sectional and longitudinal data on diet of children aged 1-5 years in relation to a wide range of health outcomes. Systematic literature reviewing and patient and public involvement and engagement will also be carried out. The Research Fellow will play a central role in delivering the project, as a key member of a team of experienced nutritionists and epidemiologists from the Universities of Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Bristol.This post is full-time (35 hours per week) based in Edinburgh; however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.The salary for this post is £40,247 to £47,874 per annum.Your skills and attributes for success:

  • PhD degree or equivalent experience in nutrition, public health, or equivalent field
  • Training statistics and/or epidemiology
  • Experience in data management and analysing dietary data
  • Proven ability to work independently
