Do you want to be a part of driving the transition?Our Construction group in St. John’s, NL are now looking for an Offshore Material Controller to join their team!What will you be doing?

  • Ensuring material and equipment received offshore undamaged, on schedule, and with accuracy and stored in organized and appropriate conditions.
  • Operating forklift, rigging, and other material handling tools to assist with material movements on the platform.
  • Identifying and communicating potential material/equipment shortages, missed deliveries, damages to appropriate disciplines and reporting any discrepancies to onshore team.
  • Coordinating and managing material bagging/tagging/staging of materials for offshore scope, reviewing work packages to identify material requirements.
  • Ensuring up to date overview and timely reports of all materials received in accordance with planned activities, maintaining direct communication with procurement, logistics and warehouse personnel
  • Attend weekly planning/logistics meetings and provide input to construction priorities for upcoming vessel load outs.
  • Analyzing and resolving specific problems as they relate to expediting activity, identifying material and equipment issues to applicable disciplines.
  • Maintaining appropriate databases and manifests to track materials onshore and offshore.
  • Coordinating mobilization/demobilization of rental equipment offshore and assist with managing the accuracy of equipment timesheets.
  • Liaising with the Onshore Material Controller on a daily basis to collaborate on and resolve materials issues.
  • Work with deck crew and crane operators to ensure timely staging and movement of material on the platform.
  • Performing the full duties associated with your technician role on the platform if requested to support operational requirements.
  • Responsible for backloading of surplus materials to onshore, referencing specific purchase order details and related job numbers.

We think you should have:

  • Knowledge and practical experience in the application of regulations, standards, and procedures applicable to the storage and preservation requirements of materials and equipment in an offshore environment.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in the use of computer programs, databases, and material management systems used for tracking and reporting materials/equipment required for scope execution.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and decision-making skills, ability to communicate effectively with multiple groups to coordinate material logistic planning
  • Trades certificate or equivalent diploma in the Electrical, Instrumentation, or Millwright/Pipefitting discipline
  • Comprehensive understanding and ability to read design documents such as P&ID’s, Isometrics and construction work packs
  • Sound knowledge of specifications and standards within the Mechanical and/or Electrical/Instrumentation discipline
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment/systems in accordance with construction work packs or maintenance work orders.
  • Adheres to the platform safety culture and procedures, more specifically the Permit to Work system, ICC, and Process Safety systems
