As an OnSite Specialist you will collaborate with surgeons, O.R. personnel, central processing, biomedical teams, and other staff to ensure seamless surgical operations while maintaining and expanding knowledge of equipment and disposable products through continuous training and educational programs.

What you will do:

  • Manage and care for customer equipment within the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) and provide support in the Operating Room by ensuring equipment is clean, sterile, and functioning properly.

  • Perform cleaning, maintenance, and assembly of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment, ensuring readiness for surgical procedures.

  • Provide clinical surgical support by anticipating and addressing the equipment needs of the O.R. staff and surgeon during procedures.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Stryker and related devices, ensuring they are functioning as required for surgery.

  • Collaborate with surgeons, O.R. personnel, central processing, biomedical teams, and other staff to ensure seamless surgical operations.

  • Maintain and expand knowledge of equipment and disposable products through ongoing training and educational programs.

  • Provide accurate, up-to-date information to physicians and O.R. personnel regarding current and new products.

  • Record and report all surgical procedure information and relevant metrics accurately, adhering to all safety protocols and industry standards.

  • Adhere to Stryker and medical facility policies, standards, and procedures, while using independent judgment to resolve both routine and non-routine product issues.

  • Provide on-call services as required by the medical facility.

  • Ability to meet work schedule and meet overtime requirements, including weekends.

What you need:

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and move objects weighing up to 20 lbs continuously.

  • Remain standing or walking for extended periods (up to 8 hours).

  • Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • IAHCSMM CRCST Certification required within 6 months of start date, with timely annual renewals.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Use independent judgment to solve both routine and complex problems.

  • Adherence to HIPAA and patient confidentiality regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree, or equivalent certifications.

  • Experience in the operating room with knowledge of anatomy, surgical procedures, and troubleshooting/maintenance of medical equipment in a clinical setting.

  • IAHCSMM CRCST Certification (for those working in Sterile Processing).

  • Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve equipment issues.

  • Attention to detail for identifying and addressing inconsistencies in equipment performance or documentation.
