This role is only open to colleagues who are already employed within the Faculty Office in the Faculty of Social Sciences

Do you have the skills and experience of working with data to develop insights and understanding? Can you work independently on a range of projects that include working to bring consensus.

The Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) is looking to recruit a skilled individual to develop and maintain a range of data and planning tools in support of the operation and achievement of the strategic objectives of the Faculty. FSS is a large faculty with four schools, over 300 academic staff, more than 35 degree programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as a thriving research community. Effective use of data, databases and systems is essential in supporting the delivery of the Faculty’s strategy. The Faculty seeks to have tools and processes that support managers in planning, and that provide management information to support effective use of all available resources. The role will support a range of decisions from strategic to operational through collecting, analysing and drawing inference from data, as well as supporting the management of a range of databases and research tools.

You will have excellent skills in building quantitative models and be a highly experienced user of excel and database systems. You will possess good inter-personal skills, be an effective communicator and will be able to manage challenging situations that may require negotiation. In addition, you will have experience of leading projects and working alongside academics.
