Role Description: Operations Manager

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team in Central
Bristol. This is a leadership role, focusing on leading the successful delivery of large
projects, management, and business development.
We are looking for a proven leader who can help drive the businesses rapid growth. As Operations Manager
you would be key to the direction and success of the business.
With a strong pipeline of work, we are currently involved in the delivery of a number of large
projects throughout the UK. You will be joining a highly professional, growth focused,
extremely motivated, dynamic team who are passionate about making a difference.
Delivery
As Operations Manager you would oversee all of our sustainability consultancy and testing
services. You would be responsible for overseeing the quality of our existing services and
developing new service offerings. You will maintain a high-level overview of projects, using
your skills and experience to ensure that we are delivering efficiently, minimising any
potential risks to the business, and stepping in when appropriate to resolve any problems.
Management
Having gained significant experience throughout your career, you will lead the management of
our people, projects and financial performance of the team, ensuring that we develop our staff,
successfully deliver our projects and meet business targets.
Business Development
Alongside the Managing Director you will establish yourself as a leader in the local
construction industry, attending and hosting business development activities, actively
participating in local industry clubs and committees, and speaking in public about industry
best practice on behalf of Building Energy Experts.
For our established clients, you will be a first port of call, nurturing positive working
relationships and possessing an in-depth knowledge of our clients’ organisational structures
and business needs.
Key Duties
- Leading building performance simulation and energy related workstreams, using a range of
modelling approaches, tools and techniques. - Supporting the development of junior staff in the team, helping them to improve their
understanding and skills in the building performance arena. - Developing energy strategies with our clients to lead sustainability innovation on a series
of developments. - Lead and develop processes and internal working procedures.
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of the team.
- Supporting the development of holistic sustainability strategies, where necessary.
- Development of new service offerings as the industry evolves.
- Thought leadership articles and speaking engagements.
- Develop and maintain key client relationships.
Desirable Skills
- Experience of modelling a range of building types.
- Building Regulations Part L assessments using IES and Elmhurst (or similar)
- Developing energy and carbon strategies
- In-Use energy modelling and assessment
- Dynamic modelling for thermal comfort assessments and overheating risk assessments
- Passivhaus – qualified PH Designer or Consultant, or a good working knowledge of the
methodology - Appreciation of broader sustainability issues, such as; sustainability governance and
reporting, sustainability strategies, climate change adaptation, behaviour change, etc.

- Experience working within the built environment sector.
- You will bring expertise (with a degree in engineering/science, and experience in the
field) and a passion for creating sustainable solutions. - You will relish being part of a dynamic fast growing team.
- You will have good communication skills and an enthusiasm for working within a team
environment. - A true passion for sustainability and the built environment.
