The Role – Operations Manager
We are looking for a competent, calm, compassionate colleague to oversee the day-to-day
delivery across all programme streams by working with our team to ensure that each project is
given the correct amount of focus relative to its value to the Trust and catchment. This an
exciting chance to use your skills, experience and passion to help us carry out critical work
by focusing on supporting the experts that can make a difference for the catchment and its
inhabitants.
Working with the CEO and Deputy CEO you will help create a sensible balance between what is
required and prioritise what is achievable. You will be the first port of call for the team,
ensuring that staff have a clear understanding of the work required of them and that they are
fully resourced to meet the challenges of their work in a timely manner.
You will also support the staff to adhere to Tyne Rivers Trust management procedures to aid
internal communication, grant reporting and data management on the Tyne Catchment. While the
focus of the role will be supporting the team to deliver their best, ideally you will be able
to bring technical expertise in one or more of TRTs programme areas; conservation, prosperity,
safety, education and wellbeing.

forward at pace. You will have a professional, positive attitude and flexible approach to
achieving consensus and moving practical delivery forward.
Essential Requirements:
- Demonstrable track record of managing a multi-disciplinary high performing team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with integrity, tact and diplomacy.
- Experience of a collaborative approach to working and building trust throughout the whole
team. - Strong track record of problem solving between conflicting priorities.
Some interest and experience in the environmental sector would also be desirable.
Travel across the Tyne Catchment for events, meetings and remote site visits may be required in
support of project delivery in this role, so a clean driving license is essential. The role may
require working outdoors, often in locations with difficult access and in poor weather
conditions at times.

Interviews will be in person at Tyne Rivers Trust offices, they will last approximately 1 hour
and will include a problem-solving exercise, with brief Q&A on the operational management.
Invitations to interview will be sent out on Friday 2nd June 2023. There will also be
opportunity to ask questions of the Trust.
