This position is based in the Executive Office of the Secretary General (EOSG) of the International Seabed Authority in Kingston, Jamaica. The International Seabed Authority (ISA) is an international organization established under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and the 1994 Agreement relating to the Implementation of Part XI of the Convention. The ISA is responsible for organizing and controlling activities in the Area, particularly in administering its resources. On 3 August 2022, the ISA Assembly established the ISA Partnership Fund, a multi-donor trust fund aimed at promoting marine scientific research and supporting capacity development aligned with the needs of developing States Members of ISA. The Fund contributes to implementing the Action Plan in support of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance of the Secretary General, and the direct supervision of the Chief De Cabinet and within delegated authority, the Partnership Coordinator will be responsible for the following duties: • Gather, select, and analyze information within the scope of the ISA Partnership Fund from various sources. • Keep abreast of developments in marine scientific research and capacity development related to ISA activities. • Organize meetings of the ISA Partnership Fund Board and prepare relevant reports, notes, speeches, and supporting documents, including indicative budgets and results frameworks for funded activities. • Support the implementation and monitoring of activities financed by the ISA Partnership Fund, aligning with organizational strategy and operational constraints. • Provide technical advice or mobilize expertise on programmes and policy issues, including assessment, activity planning, innovative approaches, and strategy development to advance the Fund’s objectives. • Maintain contacts with donors, beneficiaries, international organizations, governments, civil society, and the private sector regarding the Partnership Fund. • Contribute to resource mobilization efforts. • Perform other duties as required by the Chef de Cabinet or the Secretary General.

Education
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant field such as international relations, capacity development, training, economics, compliance, or financial management. A first-level university degree in combination with additional two (2) years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in compliance, capacity development, regulatory affairs, financial management, or related fields is required. Experience in preparing analytical reports, research, and background papers is required. Experience in conceptualizing and organizing proposals is required. Demonstrated interest and experiences in law of the sea; deep-seabed mineral activities; ocean governance and Blue Economy matters is desirable; Experience in liaising with governments, private sector entities, and international organizations is desired.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the Authority. For the position advertised, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
