Functional Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Multi-country Office Director and Head of Partnerships for the Multi-country Office, the Partnership Senior Analyst will: Support the oversight of CDMCO Portfolio performance management through provision of analytics and reports:
- Support CDMCO management on the implementation and monitoring progress/ reporting of corporate and strategic initiatives.
- Identify requirements related to marketing materials and the distribution thereof, as well as any reports/publications required for existing and potential clients and partners.
- Communicate with the relevant UNOPS personnel on matters pertaining to their respective responsibilities in relation to program and business development.
Development and follow up of business opportunities:
- Contribute and supports the development and implementation of CDMCO business strategy.
- Conduct research on donor aid flows for the SIDS, UN and other agencies, trends in aid, potential future markets for growth, creating criteria for selecting target markets and partners, comparison of donor types, and UNOPS market with special emphasis to CDMCO core business.
- Synthesize and summarize information relevant to business development and prepare relevant reports, briefing notes/talking points/presentations and other materials for internal and external use.
- Advocate UNOPS as a partner and service provider of choice.
- Support development of strategic partnerships with key counterparts and business opportunities through outreach missions and important meetings.
- Maintain and develop contacts and partnerships within the donor community (UN agencies, donor governments, donor organizations, etc.), monitor communications, follow-up activities and proposal submissions.
Project development:
- Prepare project documents, legal agreements, budgets and support engagement clearance. Assists the preparation of meetings and events, draft talking points, and meeting minutes.
- Support CDMCO management in project compliance and quality assurance, by providing up to date analysis of project progress, by facilitating project board meetings and by keeping track of performance vs portfolio Key Performance Indicators – KPIs.
- Collaborate with business area teams to understand project requirements, shape the initial project request, and provide a high-level estimate of the project effort and costs.
- Support to internal coordination of corporate and strategic initiatives, planning and reporting and knowledge sharing and communications.
Support communication and knowledge management:
- Promote the circulation of information within CDMCO and its clusters, in order to support knowledge management and create cross synergies within CDMCO Clusters.
- Produce high quality communications and visibility materials of CDMCO on websites.
- Support CDMCO operations and contributes to knowledge sharing, enhancing the harmonization of projects while facilitating synergies with team members.
- Develop UNOPS capacity statements for the various services provided by UNOPS.
Monitoring and Progress Controls:
- Support preparation of the monthly KPI reports as per CDMCO target agreement.
- Prepare periodic updates on the progress of Corporate action plans.
- Provides ad hoc research on potential business partners.
- Maintain the CDMCO intranet web page and UNOPS website.
Impact of Results
Efficient and successful delivery of the results produced by the Partnership Senior Analyst impacts the performance of the multi-country office or partnership group by maintaining a strong and diversified pipeline of project opportunities, leading to sustainable growth of UNOPS presence and strengthening UNOPS management results and mandate fulfillment.
Education/Experience/Language requirements
- Master’s degree in business administration, social sciences, law, development and project management, or in a similar field is required.
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, social sciences, law, development and project management, or in a similar field with at least four (4) years’ professional experience will be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree.
Experience
- Minimum of two (02) years’ experience in administration and business development in the private sector, international organizations, or in an international context is required.
- Previous experience in research and analysis, including the development of SWOT, PESTLE and Competitive Analysis Matrix models is an asset.
- Experience in the preparation and submission of tenders is an asset.
- Previous relevant experience within the United Nations system is an asset.
- Experience in sectors such as health, climate/environment, energy and peace is a plus (encouraged and appreciated).
- Experience in the Central African Context or SIDS countries would be an asset.
Language requirements for this position
- Fluency in English is required.
- Fluency in French is required.
- Knowledge of Portuguese is desirable.
